Надскладні вроджені вади, великі дефекти після онкологічних операцій, судинні мальформації – для цієї команди не було складних завдань, вони ефективно використовували найсучасніші методики для допомоги українцям.
Американські хірурги високо оцінили роботу щелепно-лицевих хірургів і анестезіологів зі Львова і покликали їх у спільну місію для допомоги діткам у Зімбабве.
Тепер разом з командою медиків зі США наша Христина Погранична і Віра Приймакова вирушили у Хараре – столицю Зімбабве, щоб допомагати дітям зі складними вадами обличчя.
Цього року до команди місії вперше запросили українок. До речі, наша Христина Романівна – єдина жінка-хірург у команді. Відтак, хірургиня стала послом медичної місії LEAP Global Missions у Зімбабве!
Загалом, працює 5 хірургів зі США, Мексики і України. Уже в перший день місії у центральній лікарні Саллі Мугабе (Sally Mugabe Central Hospital) лікарям вдалося оглянути близько 100 пацієнтів, 60 з них уже записали на операції і у перший день відбулося вже 12 операцій!
Такі місії для зімбабвійців, які потребують сучасного лікування складних вад і не можуть отримати такої допомоги вдома, наші друзі зі США організовують з 2009 року. Провідні пластичні і реконструктивні хірурги зі США їдуть у Зімбабве з короткими хірургічними місіями. Поїздку у Зімбабве LEAP Global Missions організовує у партнерстві з Celebration Health and Ministries, Центральною лікарнею Саллі Мугабе, Міністерствами охорони здоров’я та захисту дітей Зімбабве і кафедрою хірургії і стоматології Університету Зімбабве.
